Computer Analyst Entrant for Aircraft Combat ID Systems
SOLUTE, Inc. is seeking a talented and inspired individual who is interested in beginning a career working with US Navy combat aircraft and supporting aircraft systems that provide positive battlefield identification. These state-of-the-art Identifications Systems are software intensive and require active configuration management. We are seeking a candidate with a computer science degree and some practical software experience to assist with these tasks. This effort will be in support of electronic systems, but no prior experience with this equipment is required; we will provide all specialized training. The offered position is a Computer Analyst, working at NAVAIR, based in Lexington Park, Maryland. The successful candidate will support technical efforts for Combat Identification (CID) and Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems for US Navy aircraft, ships and air station facilities, and will begin by supporting configuration management of CID and ATC software for electronics equipment, systems, and subsystems. Responsibilities will include routine configuration control during product development phase; review of design release documents for completeness, proper approvals and system updates; and ensuring correct configuration modifications.
This is an entry-level, growth position for a motivated, capable, and degreed computer analyst. Ideal applicants will possess the education and experience indicated below and have an appetite for professional growth, career advancement, and increasing responsibilities.
Education/
Experience:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or computer engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of general experience in Computer Analyst or software support role.
Attractive qualifications include 1 year of practical experience performing configuration management functions for computer systems and networks, and a demonstrated familiarity with digital hardware design, combat system interfaces, and SEI CMMI design processes.
Familiarity with software versioning applications such as Git, Subversion (SVN), Concurrent Versions System (CVS), Vesta, etc. is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
Applied knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Required Soft Skills
Highly self-motivated and directed, with a keen attention to detail.
Capable of representing the company to clients and partners.
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Travel: Up to 10% of the time (CONUS and OCONUS)
