Summary:
Compass Systems Inc.
is seeking a Journey Level Mechanical Engineer to apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, implement, test and evaluate hardware and software including military weapon systems.
The preferred candidate will review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, modify proposals, and other technical documentation.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide design and documentation support on a variety of aircraft modification and integration efforts within the Aircraft Prototype Systems Division (APSD), Naval Air Warfare Division Aircraft Division.
Design parts and assemblies to meet customer and/or regulatory requirements.
Document parts and assemblies in the form of 3D models and drawings.
Work with APSD Fabrication Shop Leads to support design, fabrication and installation efforts.
Complete Project Management tasks for small to medium scale efforts.
Other Job Functions:
Analyze, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate automated data processing software related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems or management information systems.
The engineer applies engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
Performs other duties as assigned.
RequirementsQualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
The engineer must have the following skills/knowledge:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 5 years' experience in related field Mechanical Engineer - solid foundation in mechanical design.
Functional ability using MS Office products to generate documents, presentations and spreadsheets Functional experience supporting aircraft integration and modification efforts.
Experience with additive manufacturing and reverse engineering is desired.
Functional ability using CAD software and associated PLM (Product Lifecycle Management Suite) - (Preferably PTC CREO/WindChill) Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level Security Clearance Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit, walk, see, hear, and feel.
Occasionally will need to lift/and or move up to 20lbs.
Moderate environment temperature and noise level.
Must be able to interpret data, information, and documents.
Can learn and apply new information and/or skills.
Some travel may be required.
