This role will work closely with product, sales, marketing, cybersecurity, IT, and other relevant stakeholders to advise on Adtalem's global data privacy issues and to lead the implementation of compliance with applicable regulations. The role requires strategic and creative thinking, quick execution, and a demonstrated ability to work cross functionally in a collaborative manner while driving results. Serves as marketing/advertising counsel for Adtalem Global Education and its institutions, which include Title IV higher education institutions, and financial services licensure, certification, continuing education, and professional development companies. If you live within the Chicagoland area, this will be a hybrid role. If you live outside of the Chicagoland area, this will be a remote position. Responsibilities Privacy & Data Security Counsels on privacy compliance matters across the enterprise and all aspects of U.S. and global privacy, data protection laws, and regulations. Maintains awareness and understanding of the possible effect on the business operations of current, developing or new privacy and data security laws and implements legal and business best practices in those areas in which Adtalem operates and for the customers and students it serves. Enhances and documents processes for privacy-related responses, such as data subject access requests. First point of contact for any global data privacy inquiries, whether from internal or external customers or regulatory agencies. Implements the use of privacy impact assessments and architect solutions to drive PIAs and DPIAs at scale in conjunction with IT and supply management. Owns the strategy and implementation of Adtalem's privacy compliance software platform and other vendors to ensure efficient and effective use of technology in compliance operations. Partners with cybersecurity, IT, regulatory affairs, and enterprise risk management to help mitigate risk exposure. Designs employee training, selects vendors, and manages content for applicable privacy, data security and information governance issues. Develops strong understanding of product development and related operations across enterprise product/service set and establishes privacy by design guidelines in support of same. Supports the negotiation of DPAs and other contractual clauses relating to privacy and data protection. Assists in the development, management, and refinement of Adtalem's information governance and records management program, policies, and procedures, including ensuring alignment with privacy and security policies. Works closely with internal audit to help support audit reviews related to global privacy compliance. Advises the marketing, product, and sales teams on privacy implications of various activities, including online advertising, cookie use, affiliate marketing, social networking, email, SMS, and other customer-facing communications. Maintains Adtalem's privacy incident response plan and manages the privacy aspect of a security incident. Partners with CyberSecurity Team to conduct Table Top Exercises. Marketing Develops comprehensive strategy for marketing communications and website compliance across all business lines, modalities, and regulatory frameworks, domestic and global. Leads cross functional teams in the execution of marketing compliance programs. Establishes risk tolerance through policy development on issues such as claim substantiation and use of surveys. Reviews and responds to State Attorney General and BBB complaints related to marketing claims. Reviews and assists in the structuring of promotions and contests across all modalities (at events/conferences; online; mobile apps; in student communities). Serves as primary advisor to the Office of Equity and Access and the Marketing department in website accessibility compliance. Develops proactive solutions for e-commerce compliance as business lines evolve and mature, including website activity; electronic signature law issues; domain purchase agreements and enforcement; and website hosting. years of legal experience, preferably both in the areas of privacy and marketing. Strategic thinker with a focus on practical client advice and the ability to advise on legal risks within a business context. Exceptional marketing/advertising compliance skills in support of a large direct-to-consumer product/services company; experience in field of higher education is a plus. Exceptional transactional work in support of an enterprise level strategic sourcing function, excellent drafting skills, and exceptional written and verbal communications are necessary. Exceptional client-focused support and service are required. Experience in-house corporate is preferred. Ability to work independently and as a team member, while using discretion in decision-making and sound judgment in problem-solving. Ability to gather and analyze information to quickly formulate a legal analysis and recommendation. Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Legal & RegulatoryEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
