Nurse Educator

Job Summary Directs the in-service education function for nursing personnel.
Responsible for designing educational programs tomeet the assessed needs of the staff as well as meet the needs to update nursing practices along with current trends.
Also responsible for orientation programs for new or transferred nursing personnel.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
Possesses and maintains current Maryland RN license.
Minimum of 3 years experience as an RN.
Preferred Qualifications One (1) year teaching experience preferred Primary Duties and Responsibilities Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards.
Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Provides at least 12 learning activities in a variety of training formats consistent with expected performance and needs of hospital associates primarily in support of nursing positions, including but not limited to rhythm recognition, precepting, care planning, patient education, glucometer, and restraints.
Conducts and evaluates monthly mock codes in collaboration with OLR staff.
Ensures that all program learning objectives are evaluated and met to actively remediate gaps in learning and improve the quality of future programs.
Supports nursing orientation programs including the design, facilitation and evaluation of ongoing programs.
Works collaboratively with OLR staff and organizational stakeholders on the design, development, and evaluation of annual mandatory programs, Continuing Medical Education program, and Joint Commission readiness activities.
Utilizes an organized training approach that includes data driven analysis of needs and performance gaps, design and development of curriculum, implementation of the training intervention and evaluation of activity.
Supports the hospital's initiatives primarily relating to enhancing the patient experience, safety, and customer service, Nursing policies, competency development, and Joint Commission Readiness.
Rounds at least quarterly with assigned departments and compiles data to identify performance gaps as well as evaluate training and/or orientation initiatives and recommends strategies for improvement.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
